Professional Experience

The underlying philosophy of Scott’s professional career has been commitment to personal service, dedication to design excellence, and compliance with budget and schedule constraints.  His project experience includes a variety of commercial, public, institutional, and residential projects involving master plans, new construction, renovation, tenant improvements, and expansions to existing structures.

Starting at graduation with a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Arizona in 1976 until 1990, Scott worked for a variety of architectural firms in Tucson, Arizona and Buffalo, New York.  His role at these firms expanded from drafting and designer to include project architect, project manager, and associate principal.  He has worked on projects throughout the western and northeast United States.  In 1990 Scott opened his own architectural studio, and with nearly 33 years of professional experience, he is well versed at all phases and every aspect of architectural practice, including programming, master planning, design, production, and construction administration.

On all projects, regardless of scope or complexity, he places an emphasis upon communication with all the project participants to facilitate successful and timely collaboration among consultants, user groups, owners, and regulatory agencies.  Consequently, this emphasis on communication leads to design solutions and construction documents that successfully address the full spectrum of issues unique to each project. This philosophy has rewarded his firm with a number of referrals and repeat projects from previous clients, including the University of Arizona, the VA Southern Arizona Medical System, and the City of Sierra Vista.

In addition to years of construction observation experience, Scott’s qualifications include personal construction experience with concrete, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical trades, which enhances his ability to deal effectively with issues of construction administration and construction observation.
